This set of four dining chairs was designed by Antonín Šuman for the Slovak manufacturer Tatra Nábytok during the 1960s. Šuman is a celebrated figure in Czechoslovakian mid-century design, and these chairs perfectly demonstrate his signature style: organic, sculptural backrests paired with slim, tapered legs.

The bent plywood backrests provide an ergonomic curvature that is both visually striking and exceptionally comfortable, making them a staple of the "Brussels Style" era.

Condition & Character
The set is preserved in its original vintage condition, offering a raw and authentic look at mid-century craftsmanship.

Original State: The chairs maintain their original finish and upholstery. There are visible signs of use consistent with their age, which add to their vintage character.

Structural Note: All chairs are stable and sturdy. Please note that one chair is approximately 1 cm shorter than the others; however, they remain a cohesive set.

Aesthetics: The warm wood tones and iconic silhouette make these chairs a fantastic addition to any mid-century modern or eclectic dining space.

Restoration Potential: While perfectly usable as they are, they also serve as an excellent foundation for a professional restoration project to match a specific interior color palette.
