This pair of armchairs is a stunning example of Hungarian Art Deco design, produced in the 1940s by the renowned Debreceni Hajlított Bútorgyár (Debrecen Bentwood Furniture Factory). These chairs are celebrated for their sophisticated use of steam-bent wood, a technique that allows for the dramatic, continuous curves seen in the armrests.

The design bridges the gap between pre-war elegance and mid-century functionalism, featuring a wide, welcoming silhouette and architectural wooden supports.

Restoration & Condition
The pair has undergone a complete professional refurbishment, restoring them to exceptional condition while highlighting their historic craftsmanship.

Upholstery: The chairs have been newly upholstered in a premium ivory bouclé fabric. The soft, nubby texture of the bouclé provides a contemporary contrast to the sleek, dark wood frames.

Woodwork: The signature bentwood armrests and frames have been meticulously refinished in a deep, dark stain with a subtle satin luster, accentuating the elegant grain of the beechwood.

Structure: All joints have been tightened and reinforced, ensuring the chairs are as sturdy and comfortable as they were nearly a century ago.
