art-deco-adjustable-back-armchair-czechoslovakia-1930s
Art Deco Adjustable Back Armchair, Czechoslovakia, 1930s
This armchair is a mid-century Czechoslovakian design with Art Deco lines, built around a walnut frame with sweeping curved open arms and a round wooden disc mechanism at the back that allows the backrest angle to be adjusted. The sculptural bentwood-style arms and geometric block feet are characteristic of Czech furniture making from this period. With its generous proportions and original green upholstery, this chair suits a living room, reading corner or study.

Condition and Character
**Original condition with small signs of use.**
The chair retains its original green woven upholstery with yellow rope piping, showing light wear consistent with age. There is a small red paint mark on one of the backrest slats, and the walnut frame shows light surface scratches from handling and use over the years. The adjustable backrest mechanism remains functional.
